Private Appeals Fees

Fess of the members of the Private Appellate Panel

  1. The Private Appeal Panel can be one or three members of ADR Chambers Appeal Panel.
  2. The fees charged are the hourly and daily rates of panel member(s).
  3. The day or days set aside for the Hearing by the panel are booked as 8 hour days.

Deposit

A deposit is required for the anticipated fees, expenses and taxes related to a Private Appeal.
The final account of the appeal panel must be paid to ADR Chambers before the appeal award can be released.

Venue

ADR Chambers offers convenient and high quality arbitration facilities at its downtown Toronto ADR Centre. The fee for the arbitration room is $750 plus taxes per day. Coffee, tea, cold drinks and snacks are available throughout the day. Lunch is billed at cost. Additional charges for breakout rooms are $200 per room per day, plus taxes.

Adjournment, Cancellation or Settlement Policy

If the private appeal is cancelled, or adjourned within thirty calendar days prior to the commencement of the private appeal, the cancellation fee will be half of the amount required for deposit (set out above). If the private appeal is cancelled within two weeks of the scheduled date of the private appeal, the cancellation fee will be the full amount of the deposit required to be posted (set out above).

If the panel member is able to re-book the time scheduled for the private appeal with other paying work, the cancellation fee will be reduced by the amount received by the panel member (for private appeals cancelled or adjourned within two weeks of the scheduled date) or by half of the amount received for private appeal cancelled or adjourned within 30 days of the scheduled date.
