David is a mediator and arbitrator with ADR Chambers.
David brings to these roles extensive domestic and international experience as senior counsel and advisor in complex corporate and commercial disputes involving a broad spectrum of issues including product and professional liability, contracts, securities, shareholder rights, corporate governance and defamation. He also has expertise in class proceedings, franchising and employment disputes, and investigations, particularly involving potential fraud against businesses.
David was a senior Litigation partner and member of the Executive Committee at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP. He is a member and former Director of the Advocates’ Society, and a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Bar Association and the American Bar Association. David is a frequent speaker at conferences and professional education seminars, and has written extensively on a wide range of legal topics. He is co-author of the books The Oppression Remedy and Canadian Defamation Law and Practice, (and their respective annual updates), published by Thomson Reuters. David has been listed in Best Lawyers in Canada, Benchmark Litigation Canada, Acritas Stars, Lexpert and Chambers Global.
David received his LL.B. degree with Distinction from the University of Western Ontario and B.C.L. degree with First Class Honours from the University of Oxford. He was called to the Bar in 1984 after serving as law clerk to Mr. Justice Estey at the Supreme Court of Canada.
