Eban M. Bayefsky

Eban is a mediator, arbitrator and investigator with ADR Chambers.

Eban’s areas of expertise include human rights, wrongful dismissal, personal injury, motor vehicle accidents (SABS), workers’ compensation, occupational health and safety, labour relations, and First Nations disputes.

Eban brings over 25 years of experience in alternative dispute resolution to his mediation, arbitration and investigation practice. His most recent post was as a Vice-Chair at the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario where he conducted mediations, med-arbs and hearings involving diverse forms of discrimination. Eban spent 20 years as an Arbitrator at the Financial Services Commission of Ontario conducting pre-hearing conferences, mediations and arbitrations in no-fault automobile insurance and long-term disability claims. Eban was also a Vice-Chair at the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal conducting hearings in workers’ compensation claims involving complex medical issues of causation, disability and rehabilitation. Between 1987 and 1995, Eban acted as counsel at the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Tribunal, Pay Equity Hearings Tribunal, and Ministry of Labour.

Eban earned his LL.M. (Administrative Law) at Osgoode Hall Law School, and his LL.B. at the University of Toronto Law School. He was called to the Bar in Toronto in 1987.

Eban is available to conduct mediations, arbitrations and investigations in-person, by video conference and teleconference.
