Helen L. Walt

Helen is a mediator and investigator with ADR Chambers.

Helen has been a full time mediator since 2002 and has mediated a wide range of disputes including personal injury, insurance, commercial and property disputes.

Helen graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand (Johannesburg, South Africa) with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1990 and a Bachelor of Law degree in 1992. She obtained her Masters of Law degree specializing in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) at Osgoode Hall Law School in 1999. As part of her LL.M., she worked at the Ministry of Consumer and Commercial Relations focusing on needs assessment, analysis and design of dispute resolution systems. Helen has also completed the Intensive Mediation Certificate from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University (1998).

Helen was appointed Assistant Vice-President of the organization that launched the first online dispute resolution company in Canada, mediating insurance settlements between plaintiff counsel and defence counsel/insurance companies. She was also the Assistant Manager at one of the top Canadian banks in the areas of institutional risk management and client policy.
