Helen L. Walt graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand (Johannesburg, South Africa) with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, 1990 and a Bachelor of Law degree in 1992. She obtained her Masters of Law degree specializing in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) at Osgoode Hall Law School in 1999. As part of her LL.M., she worked at the Ministry of Consumer and Commercial Relations focusing on needs assessment, analysis and design of dispute resolution systems. Ms. Walt has also completed the Intensive Mediation Certificate from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University (1998).
Ms. Walt was appointed Assistant Vice-President of the organization that launched the first online dispute resolution company in Canada, mediating insurance settlements between plaintiff counsel and defence counsel/insurance companies.
Helen L. Walt has been part of the panel of YorkStreet Dispute Resolution Group Inc. mediators since 2002.
