Don is a mediator and arbitrator with broad corporate and commercial experience, including insolvency and bankruptcy disputes. Don was appointed to the Superior Court of Justice in 1995, following a distinguished career in corporate and commercial, employment, and environmental law.
Don is the author of Environmental Issues in Business Transactions, Butterworths, 1993. He was a lecturer and seminar leader at the Law Society of Ontario’s Bar Admission Course in Corporate and Commercial law and was a speaker at various Continuing Legal Education Programmes on business acquisitions, shareholders’ rights, directors and officers’ liability and environmental issues. Don served on the CBA National Executive from1993 to 1995.
In 1958 Don graduated from Trinity College, University of Toronto with a Hon. B.A. He earned his LL.B. in 1961 at the Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto. Between 1975 and 1991, Don was the Chair of the Canadian Bar Association National Business Law Section, the Ontario Business Law Section, the National CLE Committee, the Ontario CLE Committee and the Ontario Annual Institute. In 1993, Don was given the CBA Award for Distinguished Service.
