Leslie is a mediator and arbitrator with 27 years’ experience in dispute resolution. His areas of expertise include commercial disputes, contracts, libel, wrongful dismissal, workplace, franchise, real estate, and construction matters.
Leslie received his LL.M. in Alternative Dispute Resolution at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, and his Master of Arts from Concordia University. He is a Chartered Mediator and a member of the Advocates’ Society, and has recently been awarded the Advocates’ Society Award for Excellence in Teaching.
Leslie is a frequent speaker and instructor on ADR and Dispute Resolution topics. He is an Adjunct Professor at Osgoode Hall Law School teaching Dispute Settlement in the Civil Justice System. He also taught Civil Procedure, and the Capstone Colloquium in Litigation, Dispute Resolution and Administration of Justice. Leslie has also provided training in mediation techniques and mediation advocacy to government lawyers for the Office of the Attorney General and has acted as a Coach for the National Judicial Institute in settlement conference training for judges and masters. He was the sole mediator for the pilot program at the Royal College of Dental Surgeons for professional misconduct complaints. Leslie is also the author of numerous publications on ADR and recently authored a chapter on Med/Arb in the newly published Practitioner’s Guide to Commercial Arbitration.
