Private Appeals Fees

Fees of the members of the Private Appellate Panel

The Private Appeal Panel can be one or three arbitrators of ADR Chambers Appeal Panel.
The fees charged are the hourly and daily rates of panel arbitrators.

Deposit

A deposit is required for the anticipated fees, expenses and taxes related to a Private Appeal.

Venue

ADR Chambers offers convenient arbitration facilities at its North York offices. The room fee to conduct an arbitration at ADR Chambers North York office is $750 plus HST. A hearing room and two breakout rooms are provided for this fee. Additional rooms are $400 plus HST each. Coffee, tea, cold drinks, and snacks are provided. Lunch, if requested, is billed at cost.

Adjournment, Cancellation or Settlement Policy

If a private appeal is cancelled more than 30 calendar days before the commencement of the private appeal hearing, the cancellation fee will be $500 plus the hourly rate of the arbitrator(s) times the number of hours spent by the arbitrator(s) prior to notification to ADR Chambers of the cancellation.

If the private appeal is cancelled or adjourned within 30 calendar days of the scheduled commencement of the arbitration hearing, the cancellation fee will be half of the amount of the deposit required to be posted (set out above). If the private appeal is cancelled within two weeks of the scheduled commencement of the arbitration hearing, the cancellation fee will be the full amount of the deposit required to be posted (set out above).

If the arbitrator is able to re-book the time scheduled for the arbitration with other paying work, the cancellation fee will be reduced by the amount received  by half of the amount received by the arbitrator.
